Question 1

How much does a Dacia Duster 1.2 TCe engine rebuild cost in Harlow?

Accepted Answer

Most Dacia Duster 1.2 TCe rebuilds at MnF Motors start from around £1,200 and rise depending on parts condition found at strip-down. We quote firmly after assessment — no surprise invoices. This is typically 40–60% less than a Dacia dealer replacement engine.

Question 2

Is it worth rebuilding a Dacia Duster 1.2 TCe engine rather than replacing it?

Accepted Answer

Yes, in most cases. A dealer or supply-and-fit replacement engine often costs £2,500–£4,000+. A rebuild addresses only what is actually worn or failed, which saves significant money and retains your vehicle's original matching numbers — important for insurance and future sale.

Question 3

What are the most common faults on the Dacia Duster 1.2 TCe engine?

Accepted Answer

The H5Ft 1.2 TCe unit commonly suffers timing chain stretch (especially pre-2017 builds), piston ring wear leading to oil consumption, turbocharger seal failure causing blue smoke, and carbon build-up on intake valves. Coolant loss from the cylinder head gasket is also a known issue on higher-mileage examples.

Question 4

How long does a Dacia Duster 1.2 TCe engine rebuild take?

Accepted Answer

A full rebuild typically takes 5–8 working days once parts are confirmed. We'll give you a realistic timeline on booking — not an optimistic estimate that slips. Courtesy car availability can be discussed when you contact us.

Question 5

Do you offer a warranty on engine rebuild work for Harlow customers?

Accepted Answer

Yes. All rebuild work carries a parts and labour warranty. If you ever need to discuss a warranty matter, our warranty claims process covers customers up to 100 miles from our Edmonton workshop — so Harlow drivers are fully covered.
