Question 1

Why has my pre-collision assist warning come on after a bumper repair in Romford?

Accepted Answer

The radar sensor sits behind or inside your front bumper. When the bumper is removed or refitted — even carefully — the radar almost always shifts fractionally from its factory aim. That tiny misalignment is enough to trigger a pre-collision assist or AEB fault. The bodyshop fixed the panel; they almost never perform the recalibration needed to put the safety system back online.

Question 2

How much does ADAS camera and radar calibration cost in Romford?

Accepted Answer

At MnF Motors, ADAS calibration is typically £120–£250 depending on your vehicle and whether camera, radar, or both require alignment. You receive a calibration certificate on completion. Call 020 8803 1231 for a vehicle-specific quote.

Question 3

Is it safe to drive with a pre-collision assist fault showing?

Accepted Answer

Technically the car will still drive, but your automatic emergency braking and collision warning systems are disabled or unreliable. In an emergency stop situation those systems will not perform as designed. We strongly advise booking calibration promptly rather than driving indefinitely without them.

Question 4

Can the bodyshop that did my bumper repair recalibrate the radar?

Accepted Answer

Most bodyshops do not own the specialist targets and software required for static radar calibration. Some will subcontract it, but many simply refit the bumper and return the car without calibrating. If a fault light appeared after collection, that is a strong sign recalibration was skipped.
