Question 1

What does fault code B1004 mean on my car?

Accepted Answer

B1004 means your SRS airbag control module has stored a crash event in its memory. Even if your car has been repaired after an accident, the module holds this data permanently until it is professionally cleared or the module is replaced or rebuilt.

Question 2

Will clearing the code myself fix the B1004 fault?

Accepted Answer

No. A standard OBD reader cannot clear a stored crash event from the SRS module. The data is written to a protected memory area that requires specialist SRS diagnostic equipment or module-level repair to reset.

Question 3

How much does fixing a B1004 airbag fault cost in Islington?

Accepted Answer

Diagnosis starts from £89. Crash data clearing or module repair typically ranges from £120–£280 depending on vehicle make and module condition. MnF Motors provides a fixed quote before any work begins.

Question 4

Is it safe to drive with the B1004 airbag warning light on?

Accepted Answer

Technically the car can be driven, but with the SRS warning light active your airbags and seatbelt pre-tensioners may not deploy in a collision. This is a serious safety risk and should be resolved promptly.

Question 5

How far from Islington does MnF Motors travel for airbag repairs?

Accepted Answer

Diagnostics, repairs and calibration are available to customers within a 20-mile radius of our Edmonton N18 garage — Islington is well within that zone. Warranty claims work is handled up to 100 miles away.
