Question 1

Why is my car making a grinding noise when I brake in Southgate?

Accepted Answer

The most likely cause is worn brake pads that have reached metal-to-metal contact with the disc. Every time you brake, the steel backing plate of the pad is grinding directly into the disc surface, destroying it. This is a safety issue — stop driving and get it checked immediately.

Question 2

How much does brake pad and disc replacement cost in Southgate?

Accepted Answer

Cost depends on your vehicle make, model, and which axle needs work. MnF Motors provides an honest, itemised quote before any work begins. Call 020 8803 1231 for a same-day price. We do not charge for a visual brake inspection.

Question 3

Can I drive to MnF Motors from Southgate with grinding brakes?

Accepted Answer

Drive with extreme caution and avoid heavy braking. Grinding brakes are still brakes, but the stopping distance is compromised and each mile destroys the disc further. Call us first on 020 8803 1231 — we'll advise whether to drive in or arrange assistance.

Question 4

Do MnF Motors fit a warranty on brake pads and discs?

Accepted Answer

Yes. All brake pads and discs fitted at MnF Motors come with a parts and labour warranty. If anything fails within the warranty period, bring the car back and we'll sort it — no argument.

Question 5

How long does brake pad and disc replacement take at MnF Motors?

Accepted Answer

In most cases we complete a full axle brake replacement the same day, often within 1–2 hours. We stock common pad and disc sets for popular vehicles, so there's rarely a parts delay.
