Question 1

Why does my collision warning keep going off for no reason in Woodford Green?

Accepted Answer

The most common cause is a front radar sensor that has shifted out of alignment. Even a small angular deviation — sometimes caused by a minor bump, a windscreen replacement, or suspension work — causes the radar to flag stationary or slow-moving objects as collision threats. The result is a false AEB alert with no real hazard present. Static radar calibration realigns the sensor to factory specification and stops the false alerts.

Question 2

How much does front radar calibration cost in Woodford Green?

Accepted Answer

At MnF Motors, a static front radar calibration typically starts from around £120–£180 depending on the vehicle make and model. We always diagnose before quoting so you only pay for what your car actually needs. Call 020 8803 1231 for a firm price on your specific vehicle.

Question 3

How long does radar calibration take?

Accepted Answer

A static radar calibration usually takes between 60 and 90 minutes once the vehicle is on our calibration bay. We will give you a realistic time estimate when you book.

Question 4

Can I drive with the collision warning going off constantly?

Accepted Answer

Technically the car will still move, but a misaligned radar is a genuine safety risk. The system may apply emergency braking unnecessarily at speed, and it may also fail to react to a real collision threat because the sensor is pointing in the wrong direction. We strongly recommend getting it diagnosed promptly.

Question 5

Do I need to come to Edmonton or do you come to Woodford Green?

Accepted Answer

Radar calibration requires a controlled indoor bay with calibration targets, so the work must be carried out at our Unit 13 Shaftesbury Road, Edmonton, N18 1SW workshop. Woodford Green is well within our 20-mile service radius and the journey typically takes under 20 minutes via the A406.
