Question 1

Why are all my dashboard warning lights on after a jump start?

Accepted Answer

A jump start can produce a voltage spike that corrupts control modules or blows earth connections. The car's computers lose reliable power references and trigger every warning light as a safety response. A full electrical diagnosis is needed to isolate exactly which module or earth is affected.

Question 2

How much does electrical fault diagnosis cost at MnF Motors?

Accepted Answer

Electrical fault diagnosis at MnF Motors starts from £60. The final cost depends on the complexity of the fault found. Any repair work is quoted separately and approved by you before we proceed.

Question 3

Is it safe to drive with all warning lights on after a jump start?

Accepted Answer

No. Multiple simultaneous warning lights usually mean the ABS, traction control, airbag or engine management systems are offline. You may have reduced or no braking assistance and no crash protection. Do not drive until the fault is diagnosed.

Question 4

Can clearing the fault codes fix the problem?

Accepted Answer

Clearing codes without repairing the underlying fault will only cause the lights to return. If a module has been corrupted or an earth has failed, those faults need to be physically repaired first. MnF always fixes the root cause, not just the code.

Question 5

How long does the electrical diagnosis take?

Accepted Answer

Most electrical fault diagnoses take between one and three hours. Complex cases involving multiple module communication failures may take longer. We will give you a realistic time estimate when you book.
