Question 1

Why has my pre collision assist fault appeared after a bumper repair?

Accepted Answer

The front radar sensor sits directly behind the bumper or grille. When a bodyshop removes and refits the bumper — even carefully — the radar's physical angle shifts by a fraction of a degree. That's enough to trigger a pre collision assist fault and disable your automatic emergency braking. Recalibration restores the sensor to factory alignment.

Question 2

How much does ADAS camera and radar calibration cost in Haringey?

Accepted Answer

At MnF Motors, radar and camera calibration typically costs between £120 and £280 depending on your vehicle make and whether static or dynamic calibration is required. We confirm the exact price before any work begins — no surprises.

Question 3

Can I drive with a pre collision assist fault warning showing?

Accepted Answer

Technically yes, but your automatic emergency braking and forward collision warning are disabled while the fault is active. This is a significant safety reduction. We recommend booking calibration as soon as possible rather than driving indefinitely without AEB cover.

Question 4

Will the bodyshop pay for the recalibration?

Accepted Answer

They should — ADAS recalibration after any repair that disturbs a sensor or camera is the repairer's responsibility. MnF can provide a detailed calibration report and certificate you can present to the bodyshop or insurer to recover the cost.

Question 5

How long does radar calibration take at MnF Motors?

Accepted Answer

Static calibration takes approximately 60–90 minutes. Some vehicles also require a dynamic (road) calibration pass which adds 30–45 minutes. We'll tell you exactly what your vehicle needs when you book.
